Memrise/ My Little Word Land Decks Japanese Grammar Basic and Intermediate

Hi long time no see!

I'm back after a long while of not posting.

Getting straight to business - I've made two Memrise sets for basic and intermediate Japanese grammar. They are based on the example sentences from the Dictionary of Japanese Grammar series.

I also have added audio files of all the sentences which were made using Google Cloud's Japanese voices. I'm quite happy with the results but please check the sets out for yourself!

From a learners point of view seeing grammar in example sentences is more effective as the sets I've seen with formulas for grammar like:

Verb‑て + もいいです
It’s okay to… / You may …” ‑ giving permission

or

「一(いち) + 助数詞 + たりとも + ~ない」
not even a single …,” emphasizing total negation or prohibition

are more confusing than:

ここで写真を 撮ってもいいです か。
 - May I take pictures here?

or

試験(しけん)まであと三日だ。一分たりとも 無駄(むだ)にできない
- Only three days left until the exam. We can’t waste even a single minute.

I think there's some theory to back this up from people in the lexical approach to language learning for you learning nerds. But basically I think having proper concrete sentences with meanings in your memory helps better to formulate sentences and how grammar is used than formulas. Formulas are just a step too abstract especially the further you go in language learning.  I think context makes grammar usage clearer.

Lastly I know Memrise is planning to shutdown their community courses at some point (this year?) so I've also had the courses imported into My Little World Land. My Little World Land was created by a developer who used to use Memrise and is currently free to use (yay!) I've placed the links for there and Memrise below.

Enjoy and any feedback about the materials are welcome.
